Another day, another hospital scandal in England…

While the great and the good squabble around the carcass of Murdoch’s ruined empire, in the real world it’s the same old story of incompetance and neglect. Yet again it’s the English Health Service in the dock. Check out last night’s Face the Facts programme on BBC Radio 4. The programme is called ‘Saving Lives in Seconds’ – it’s about 25,000 people in England who needlessly die every year in English hospitals from ‘Hospital Acquired Deep Vein Thrombosis’ because vital risk assessment checks which take but a few seconds are not being carried out…
